More about “Category C Conversations”

This is a new approach for us! We will use this first round of “conversations” as a test and modify our method as needed. We will use a standard agenda for the first round of calls and then allow each group to decide how to organize future conversations. At least one person from each organization represented on the call should be prepared to speak on each agenda item.

Agenda:

  • Welcome and Introductions
  • Share provider status on baselines  – identify any challenges/concerns
  • Share provider status on core activities
  • How can you most benefit from a future conversation with this group? (Frequency? Who is missing? Where to focus? Additional resources? Etc.)

Stakeholder Forum – RHP 6 Plan Update (1115 Waiver Demonstration Years 7-8)

Past Events:

All stakeholders were invited to attend a RHP Stakeholder Forum on May 30, 2018, from 12:00  – 1:00 PM. During this online event, the RHP 6 Anchor presented the RHP 6 Plan Update which has been submitted to the Texas Health and Human Services Commission. The RHP Plan Update describes the providers participating in the Medicaid 1115 Waiver Incentive Pools and the proposed outcome measures targeted for improvement during Demonstration Years 7 – 8.

All stakeholders were invited to attend the RHP 6 Stakeholder Forum on March 21, 2018. At this event, the RHP 6 Anchor, University Health System, presented the draft RHP 6 Plan Update for Demonstration Years 7-8 of the Medicaid 1115 Waiver. Providers participating in the Delivery System Reform Incentive Payment Program (DSRIP) shared their transformation goals and strategies for the next two years. This was a great opportunity to share feedback on these plans and identify opportunities for alignment and collaboration. Many thanks to those who joined us!

RHP 6 has compiled the first draft of the RHP Plan Update for DY 7-8. Stakeholders are invited to review the draft and provide input and ideas using this online survey form. The survey will close March 28, 2018. This version of the RHP Plan Update is expected to change as providers receive input from stakeholders and ongoing guidance from HHSC. The final plan is due to HHSC no later than April 30, 2018.

RHP 6 – MCO Alignment through DSRIP Series

The purpose of these webinar events is to present the strategies/initiatives/priorities of the Medicaid Managed Care Organizations (MCO) with the goal of encouraging Performing Providers in RHP 6 to select DSRIP Outcome Measure Bundles that align with MCO priorities. While this may not always be possible, we believe consideration of alignment now will make a move to value based purchasing and alternative payment models easier in the future.

The first part of this webinar series included Amerigroup, Superior, and CFHP. The second part included Aetna and Molina. This series concluded June 28, 2017.

PART 1:

Superior – May 17 at 2 PM

Amerigroup – May 24 at 2 PM

Community First Health Plans – May 25 at 10 AM

PART 2:

Aetna – June 23 at 9 AM

Molina Healthcare of Texas – June 28 at 2:00

*****

January 26 – We discussed the sustainability planning milestone, proposed questions for reporting, and actions you can take NOW to prepare for the sustainability of your project.

March 3 – We heard from guest speakers from UT Health Houston on the topic of cost analysis/effectiveness of DSRIP projects. This is a critical component of a sustainability strategy, and is proposed to be required in DY7-8. Knowing how much your project costs and potentially saves your system may drive decisions on continuation, expansion, and value based purchasing arrangements. Lead Guest Speaker: Dr. Charles. E. Begley, Division of Management, Policy, and Community Health; The University of Texas-Houston School of Public Health

March 7 – We learned about Value-Based Purchasing and Alternative Payment Models. As the healthcare system’s agenda and landscape evolves to focus on improved care and reduced costs, providers may benefit from business opportunities with value based payment.  In this webinar, the guest presenters shared both the promise and potential peril of value based payment models. Guest Speakers: Bren Manaugh and Amanda Ternan, Health Management Associates
